Keep Windsurfing in Olympics

May 9, 2012

Hi

You probably have already heard the bad news that Windsurfing was not selected by ISAF to be part of the 2016 Olympic Regatta in Rio

Believe me we are working on a plan to reverse this decision… In the meantime, we will not stand a chance without you taking action too.

Please click the following link and sign the petition

http://www.change.org/petitions/isaf-keep-windsurfing-as-olympic-discipline?utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=share_petition&utm_term=share_page_mobile

AND ask all your friends to do so

AND ask them to ask their friends

AND ask them to ask their friends

and so on until we have 100,000 signatures or more.

That is our first target and with your help we can do it.  There are other plans in the works which we are working on but if you do what I ask then you will have done your part… for now

I’ll get back to you with more as it happens

Regards

Rory Ramsden

Find a Beach

January 30, 2011

Of course you can always find a beach via Google Maps.

Alternatively, try NearMap. Here’s some excellent imagery of
Sunshine in NSW.

I haven’t looked all over Australia, but NearMap’s coastal satellite imagery is stunning! The eastern states flood imagery is impressive too.

January 2, 2010

Thomas’ tips are very useful and are likely very applicable to many of us… enjoy. Things Tom has learned and some words of wisdom:

  1. Family & health care first, work and career second
  2. Other people are not like me
  3. Managing people is different than managing projects
  4. There’s more than one way to get things done
  5. Most people want to be successful and to do the right thing
  6. Sooner or later you’ll come across someone who is simply a “horses ass”
  7. Fundamentally I’m a geek and Learn as much about yourself as you can
  8. The biggest obstacle to your future may be your past success
  9. When you have a clear and strong belief, it may be wrong
  10. You can never communicate too much

To read in detail Thomas’ comments see this article from the Winter 2009 American Surveyor Magazine
